Representatives of supreme audit institutions of the European Union met in Hungary

Press Release – December 7, 2009

From November 30 to December 1, 2009, the annual meeting of the Contact Committee of the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of the European Union took place in Budapest, Hungary. The Czech Republic’s delegation was lead by president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) František Dohnal.

“During the two-day meeting in Hungary, we were discussing several interesting topics. Main event of our talks focused on the role of SAIs in assisting the government measures in response to the financial-economic crisis. I found the debate on SAIs’ independent functioning in various countries. The participants also discussed activities of the working groups as well as future plans, including the seminar on Common Agricultural Policy, which is about to be held in autumn 2010 in the Czech Republic. Among the topics presented by member states at the meeting were audits of EU financial management on national levels and implementation of the EU legislative concerning energy intensity of buildings“, said president of the SAO František Dohnal.
