Seminar Audit of international organizations and on international accounting standards

Press release – 23. 3. 2018

On 20 March 2018, the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) organized a seminar focused on audits of international organizations and on international accounting standards. The event took place at the SAO headquarters and was designed to exchange experience, show different auditing procedures of international organizations, and also to explore the essence of the use of international accounting standards on which the accounting of many international organizations is based.

“Exchanging of experience and the possibility to find out how others proceed in practice is of enormous value. Thanks to this, we can compare our practice with the practice of others and take from the colleagues what is good and useful and what we can use and apply ourselves. This event will be a success if - upon our departure home - we are thinking about what our colleagues have said today and how useful it might be for our work,” said the SAO President in the introduction.

The seminar included contributions of foreign guests on the audit of the European Space Agency, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, and last but not least, the United Nations Organization. The international accounting standards were more closely expounded by Mr Vladimír Zelenka from the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic, and by Mr Ladislav Mejzlík, the Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the University of Economics. The audit of international organizations was also presented by a SAO auditor Mr Luboš Rokos, who chairs the European Space Agency Audit Commission.
