The Czech SAO organised an international Seminar on Achieving Audit Quality

The Czech Supreme Audit Office (SAO) organised an international Seminar on Achieving Audit Quality which was held in Prague on 24 – 26 April 2012. The seminar was held under the auspices of Network of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the EU Acceding, Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries and the European Court of Auditors. Expert, technical and financial support was provided by the Joint Working Group on Audit Activities, co-chaired by the Czech SAO, and SIGMA (OECD).

The key seminar topics were the role of supervision and review during the performance of audit work, implementing other ISSAI 40 elements (e.g. leadership, ethical standards or monitoring) and the way forward in achieving audit quality. The objective of the seminar was to introduce the standards applying the chosen elements of ISSAI 40 and ISQC-1, exchange experience reflecting day to day practice in implementing audit quality, identify needed improvements and promote cooperation among Network SAIs.

Presentations were delivered by experts from the Network SAIs and by representatives from SAIs of the Czech Republic, Germany, Latvia, Norway and from SIGMA. The seminar was attended by more than 40 participants from 18 organisations and institutions.
