European Defence Agency – EDA

EDA is an intergovernmental agency of the European Council. It is made up of 26 Member States, i.e. all EU Member States, except for Denmark. The main mission of EDA is to develop European defence capabilities through cooperative programmes of its Member States. The Czech Republic is one of the founding members of this agency, and has been involved in its operation since 2004. EDA’s headquarters are in Brussels.
The College of Auditors is appointed in accordance with the Financial rules of EDA and secures audit of financial management, verifies EDA's financial statement and concluding reports from projects which were finished in the given year. The College of Auditors is composed of three members delegated from different EU Member States. The members are appointed for a 3-year term. The SAO had a representative in the College of Auditors from 2015 to 2017 and 2019 to 2022. Currently, two SAO representatives are actively involved in the implementation of EDA’s performance audit on Policies and procedures initiated by the EDA, for promoting cost-effective and efficient procurement.
