44th EUROSAI Governing Board meeting

Press release – 21. 6. 2016

On June 13–14, 2016, President of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) Mr. Miloslav Kala and other representatives from the SAO took part at the 44th EUROSAI Governing Board meeting, which was held at the premises of the European Court of Auditors in Luxemburg.

The EUROSAI Governing Board focuses on preparing activities, strategies, and working plans of EUROSAI. Topics discussed at its 44th meeting included approving the EUROSAI’s budget, report on the organisation’s financial situation, and targets met by individual EUROSAI working groups. Discussions also dealt with outcomes from the EUROSAI evaluation process, with following stages of the independent evaluation, with the role of the EUROSAI Governing Board in the future, and with the EUROSAI Strategic Plan for the period 2017–2023.

President of the SAO Mr. Miloslav Kala gave a presentation about activities and targets of the working group on knowledge sharing. The WG has been chaired by the SAO since 2011 and one of its current important achievements was creating a new database of EUROSAI audits. At present, this database contains more than 700 audits and offers wide possibilities of utilisation of the audit results among individual Member States, enables sharing of new trends in auditing, and allows to compare specific criteria, for instance prices. Other achievements of the WG were the development of a new database of products, the use of experts from individual SAIs, increasing numbers of training activities, and strengthened cooperation among SAIs regarding audit operations.
