Delegation from the Committee on Budgetary Control of the Czech Chamber of Deputies in Japan

On April 4–9, 2016, Vice-chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Mr. Jan Bartošek and Chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control Mr. Vladimír Koníček with other delegates from the Czech Chamber of Deputies visited Japan. Vice-president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) Ms. Zdeňka Horníková was also among the members of the delegation to Japan. The visit was planned on the basis of an invitation from the audit committee of the House of Representative of the National Diet of Japan, who came to the Czech Republic in October 2015.
The Czech delegation was welcomed by President of the Board of Audit of Japan Mr. Teruhiko Kawato. Later the delegation also visited the Ministry of Finance of Japan and met with Speaker of the Japanese House of Representative Mr. Tadamori Oshima. Discussions took place at the audit committee of the House of Representative of the National Diet of Japan as well. Delegates also visited Kyoto – the former capital of Japan – and were welcomed by the current mayor of Kyoto and met with the municipal audit commission.
The discussions were mainly focused on process of debating and defining the national closing accounts, the communication system of audit reports submitted by the Japanese supreme audit institution to the Government and the Parliament of Japan, the system of public administration audits, powers, roles, and activities of parliamentary audit committees.
