Press release – 2. 3. 2018

Two prominent guests have arrived at the Czech SAO in recent days. On 26 and 27 February, the SAO President met with the President of the German Federal Court of Auditors, Mr Kay Scheller. From 28 February to 1 March, the President of the Dutch Court of Auditors, Mr Arno Visser, came for a visit.

Both Presidents made their visits in connection with the EUROSAI presidency of the SAO which will be in the period 2020-2023. The President and other representatives of the SAO familiarized the guests with the vision of the Presidency and what the SAO would like to achieve as the future president of the organization. For instance, the Benchmarking Information Exchange Project was discussed. It is the international benchmarking that is one of the core topics of the SAO Presidency. The aim is to create conditions and tools that allow individual SAIs to compare reliably relevant data from different countries.

The guests were also presented with the first Hackathon of public administration that was organized by the SAO last autumn. This event showed what can occur when public administration data is made open and people can work with it. The use of data for activities of audit institutions should be again one of the topics of EUROSAI Congress that will be held by the SAO in 2020. Both guests expressed their support for the SAO´s EUROSAI Presidency plans and objectives.
