The SAO President met the Ambassadors of the EU countries. The key objective was the change of the cooperation of the Supreme Audit Institutions

On Wednesday 21 February 2018, the President of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) welcomed the Ambassadors of the EU countries, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the head of the Representation of the European Commission at an annual meeting.

The SAO President presented SAO´s activities in the international field. He spoke mainly about the success of the SAO at the last EUROSAI Congress held in Turkey in May 2017. The SAO won the presidency of this European supranational organisation, which associates the Supreme Audit Institutions from European countries. The SAO will preside this organisation in 2020 to 2023, and in 2020 it will also organise the eleventh EUROSAI Congress in Prague.

The President spoke about the vision of the SAO presidency and presented the Benchmarking Information Exchange Project (BIEP), which is also related to the presidency. Within its framework, the SAO intends to create conditions and tools to enable Supreme Audit Institutions to reliably compare relevant data from different countries.

The guests also heard information about the first Hackathon of Public Administration organised last autumn by the SAO. Furthermore, they were informed about the Report on the EU Financial Management in the CR (EU Report 2017). At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of Bulgaria made his speech as a representative of the current presiding country of the Council of the European Union.
