Together with colleagues from Germany, the SAO looked for ways to improve the international cooperation among supreme audit institutions
PRESS RELEASE – September 1, 2017
On August 29–30th, 2017, leaders of the EUROSAI working subgroup for professional cooperation (SG1) met for the first time in the premises of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO). EUROSAI, an organisation that brings together some 50 supreme audit institutions (SAIs) mainly from Europe, has established several working groups aiming at various goals. The SG1 working subgroup is led by representatives from the SAIs of the Czech Republic and Germany, among members are also delegates from 10 other countries.
The objective of the SG1 working subgroup is to support the preparation and realisation of efficient, innovative, and appropriate audits by supporting and providing professional cooperation among individual SAIs. At the meeting, leaders of the SG1 subgroup discussed ways of adjustments of the cooperation between both SAIs and also drafted a plan with proposed objectives for the period 2017–2020. At the meeting, first proposals how to facilitate and make the mutual cooperation of SAIS the most effective were presented; these proposals are to be further developed in the future.
The next meeting, which is to be attended by all EUROSAI Member Countries involved in the working subgroup, will be organized by the SAI of Germany in November 2017.
The participation of the Supreme Audit Office in the SG1 working subgroup is part of international activities of the SAO, which has currently been serving as the Vice-President of EUROSAI and from 2020 to 2023 will serve as the President of EUROSAI.
