President of the Czech Supreme Audit Office (SAO), František Dohnal, invited ambassadors of EU countries and representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for a meeting that took place in the SAO headquarters on May 3, 2007. The guests were informed about the position of the SAO within the state administration, the international cooperation, and the system of auditing. They were given the 2006 Annual Report too.
During the following discussion, some of the participants shared experience from their countries and repeatedly expressed their thanks for the opportunity to meet for such an occasion. “Ambassadors or their substitutes took deep interests in the history of SAO, the ways of communication and cooperation with Czech legislators, media, and public, as well as the auditing process and its outcomes. They also cared for the internal education within SAO and about the supreme audit institution’s preparedness for the 2007–2013 period of financial drawings from EU funds. I was delighted at the fact that this congress was the first of its kind and my guests found it very interesting too. I shall gladly accept their proposals to gather again,“ said president of SAO, František Dohnal, about the meeting.
