Ambassadors from EU countries met at the SAO

František Dohnal, president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO), invited ambassadors and embassy representatives of the EU countries to meet together with Libor Smečka, Director of the EU section of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on May 5, 2008, at the SAO headquarters.

"The ambassadors were briefly informed of the events and changes at the SAO since their previous reunion in May 2007. We also talked about the international activities of the SAO. The guests made the acquaintance of the 2007 Annual Report of the SAO and the EU Report as well,“ said Dohnal.

In the discussion, the participants also asked about the current organisational structure of the SAO, the cooperation between the SAO and the Parliament, the function of the media during the presentation of the SAO audit results, and the flow of the EU money and its auditing.

Among the participants were 15 representatives from the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Finland, the French Republic, Italian Republic, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Latvia, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, and from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
