Annual meeting with ambassadors of EU countries, representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and delegates from European Commission

On November 4, 2014, President of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) met with ambassadors of EU countries, representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and delegates from Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic. The meeting took place at the SAO headquarters in Prague.
In the course of three individual presentations, the attendees were informed of „EU Report 2014“ (Report on the EU Financial Management in the CR) and were told details about the report’s formation, role, contents, and future publication plans. In his presentation, President of the SAO Mr. Miloslav Kala spoke about the new tool for detention of efficiency risks and other instruments and methods, which make it easier for the SAO to improve the detection of risk areas and fight against corruption. Representatives from the EU countries were also informed about the SAO’s international activities.
During the following discussion, the participants asked many questions, for example about the protection of audited bodies’ rights, about recent developments in the area of drawing from EU funds, about the Czech Government’s and Parliament’s responds to SAO’s audit findings, and about problems related to the fight against corruption.
