Around 60 delegates from SAIs attended the meeting of liaison officers

On April 26 and 27, 2010, the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) hosted a meeting of liaison officers of the supreme audit institutions from EU. Nearly 60 delegates from supreme audit institutions of EU countries and from the European Court of Auditors attended the event, which was held in Prague, Czech Republic. Liaison officers from supreme audit institutions from EU candidate countries participated at the event as observers.
“Liaison officers meet twice a year to prepare the agenda for forthcoming Contact Committee meetings and to solve tasks, which they have been assigned for. The participants of this meeting discussed the latest development in the EU financial management, the recent activities of Contact Committee and its working groups, and possibilities of the future cooperation“, said president of the SAO František Dohnal who had met with delegates before the meeting’s beginning to wish them luck in their discussion on EU external auditing agenda.
On the meeting agenda, there were a report on discharge in respect of the implementation of the European Union general budget for the financial year 2008, the outcomes of the inter-parliamentary conference on financial responsibilities of EU member countries, and the upcoming seminars on public private partnership projects and common agricultural policy, which is going to be held this in Prague.
“At the meeting, there was a wide range of issues discussed. Presidents of SAIs are going to discuss this meeting’s outcomes and prepared materials during their oncoming autumn meeting“, said Dohnal.
