Delegates from the German Parliament at the SAO

On August 19, 2014, representatives of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) led by President of the SAO Mr. Miloslav Kala met with members of the Budget Committee of the German Parliament and experts from the German Bundesrechnungshof (BRH).
Delegation from the Budget Committee of the German Parliament led by Ms. Bettina Hagedorn learnt about the SAO’s powers, cooperation between the SAO and the Czech Parliament, the SAO’s communication with the Public, anti-corruption measures, and about publication “EU REPORT”, which is issued by the SAO every year.
During the second part of the event, there were presentations about cooperation between the SAO and BRH, which particularly focused on jointly performed audits that were aimed at D8 motorway construction, VAT, and public contracts.
During the meeting, members of the Budget Committee of the German Parliament informed representatives of the SAO about the Committee’s functioning. The Committee is a German analogy of the Czech Parliamentary Committee on Budgetary Control, but has different rules for the hearing of BRH audits’ outcomes.
