PRESS RELEASE – September 11, 2014
This year’s annual meeting of representatives from supreme audit institutions of the V4+2 countries took place in Austria on September 4–5. On the agenda of the meeting were issues related to cooperation of the V4+2 countries, planning of audits, and implementation of international accounting standards.
Participants of the meeting discussed details about particular international accounting standards and their necessity in public sector as such standards can grant transparency and comparability of outcomes within individual national economics. Discussion topics also included possibilities of cooperation among SAIs and European Court of Auditors as current national tasks get more and more influenced by latest EU external auditing developments. Last but not least, participants discussed planning of audits with regard to demands of performing audit operations as well as ways of using modern technologies, which can help to collect, store, and analyse data and improve the preparation phases of auditing operations.
Delegates from individual supreme audit institutions presented their experience with and outcomes of joint auditing operations and debated future possibilities for their experts’ further progress at seminars organized by individual V4+2 supreme audit institutions.
