Delegation from the Spanish Parliament visited the SAO

On May 6, 2009, president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) František Dohnal and his associates met with a delegation from the Joint Committee of the Spanish Parliament. Representatives of both Houses of the Spanish Parliament led by the Committee’s chairwoman Isabel Pozuelo took interest in the history of auditing in the Czech Republic and the competences and organisational structure of the supreme audit institution in the Czech Republic. The visitors were informed about types of auditing operations performed by the SAO auditors, as well as procedures of submitting the audit reports and the subsequent processing.
“I found two important differences between the audit institutions in the Czech Republic and in the Kingdom of Spain, the first difference being the practice of our executive agents’ selections and the second difference is the focuses of our audit activities“, said chairwoman of the Committee Isabel Pozuelo and expressed her thanks for the provided information.
The delegation left the SAO headquarters to meet with the Committee on Budgetary Control of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and took part in the Chamber’s meeting. The programme of the delegation’s visit to the Czech Republic ended with a meeting with the Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic.
