Dohnal and Gandalovič agreed on possible corrections at Ministry of Agriculture
Press Release – September 5, 2007
Following the precedent government meeting, František Dohnal, president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO), met Petr Gandalovič, Czech minister of agriculture. The meeting took place at the new SAO office building on September 4, 2007.
During the referenced government meeting, it was stated that SAO does not regard formerly suggested corrections to be sufficient. The audit report analyzed implementation of the common agricultural policy in Czech Republic and direct subsidies from European Union.
“Several system insufficiencies of the ministry’s practices were described within the audit report. These should be withdrawn with dispatch. The government put the minister in charge of dealing with them with diligent attention. We discussed possible corrections during our meeting and came to an agreement that Ministry of Agriculture will make a list of concrete actions, which would be considered by a control committee at the parliament. This move is one of the settled steps that have been purposed during my previous meeting with Prime Minister,” said Dohnal.
