Dohnal and Gordon share opinions on care of experts
Press Release – September 20, 2007
Deputy General Counsel and Ethics Counsellor and a delegate of the U. S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), Daniel I. Gordon, visited the Supreme Audit Office of Czech Republic (SAO) on September 18, 2007. Gordon met with František Dohnal and other SAO representatives to discuss different structures of various audit institutions and to share their experience and knowledge.
While discussing problems with gathering enquiry records and materials, the participants talked about age structure and staff drafts. Both Gordon and Dohnal agreed that many graduates willingly run for government auditing jobs but more seriously, the disputants found out that it seems a major problem to keep up experts in 30´s or 40´s after they have reached respectable work experience.
Gordon arrived in Czech Republic on September 17, 2007, and gave lectures on government contracts at the CEELI Institute in Prague. He is to discourse upon ethics and transparency on Friday, September 21, 2007, at a conference which is organized by Embassy of the United States and Senate of Czech Republic.
D. I. Gordon, one of the most important lawyers from GAO, studied politics at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and later graduated at University of Oxford in the same subject. Gordon finished his academic studies at Harvard with a research on juridical sciences in 1986, obtaining the degree of J.D., Doctor of Jurisprudence.
