President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman supports the idea of enlarging the SAO's auditing powers

On April 23, 2014, President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman welcomed Miloslav Kala, President of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO), at Prague Castle.
President Kala presented the Annual Report of the SAO for the year 2013 to President Zeman and informed him about outcomes of the SAO’s work. He mainly stressed that the co-operation of the SAO and law enforcement authorities had been intensified as the number of filed notifications testifying to the facts that crimes could have been committed significantly increased over the recent period.
President Zeman expressed his support to the Constitutional Law amendment, which would enlarge the SAO’s auditing powers, including the possibility to audit the management of business companies owned by the State, regions and municipalities.
