President of the SAO at a meeting in Slovakia

From September 30 to October 1, 2010, president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) František Dohnal joined the annual meeting of presidents of the Visegrad Group, Austria and Slovenia. The meeting took place in Sielnica, Slovakia.
The discussion at the meeting mainly focused on SAIs activities in the current phase of the financial crisis. Among other topics of the meeting were co-operation of the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) on bilateral and multilateral bases, especially in relation to the planned seminars on the role of SAI in the fight against corruption. Presidents exchanged experiences from INTOSAI joint actions and talked about the latest developments and revisions of EU financial management policies. The participants of the meeting also discussed their attitudes toward the upcoming meeting of the Contact Committee and the preparation works. Next meeting of the Visegrad Group will be arranged in the Czech Republic.
