Press Release – June 2, 2008
Folowing an invitation in the Court of Accounts, František Dohnal, president of the Czech Supreme Audit Office (SAO), was visiting the Court from May 27 to 29, 2008. Philippe Séguin, the first president of the Court, informed Dohnal about activities of the Court and made him acquainted with the Court’s headquarters in Paris. The Czech delegation also met with the vice-ambassador of the Czech Republic to France, Jiři Parkmann. Later during the visit, members of the Czech delegation looked round the Czech Centre in Paris.
“President Séguin presented the Court’s mission and talked about the executive revisions that are carried out by French authorities as the new president Nicolas Sarkozy took up the office. During a meeting with a representative of the Czech ambassador to France, Jiří Parkmann, we were informed that among the revision priorities are: common imigration and integration policy, agricultural policy, EU defence policy, the power supply, and the climatic conditions as well as the EU projects in Mediterranean. I asked several questions that covered the state treasury system and the auditing of foundations, as the Court has a lot of experience in these fields,“ said Dohnal.
