President of the SAO discussing the "good governance" policy

When visiting the Council of Europe Headquarters in Strasbourg, president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) František Dohnal met Giovanni Di Stasi, head of the centre for local administration reforms and former president of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities at the Council of Europe. The meeting took place on May 29, 2008, and the main discussion topic was the "good governance" policy, which had been adopted by the Committee of Ministers on March 26, 2008.
"We discussed the possibility of supporting the policy and ways of its future implementation in the Czech Republic. The SAO takes aim at impeccable auditing mechanisms, which belong to the key principles of a good administration in spite the SAO only performs audits of the state grants," said Dohnal. The governance policy will be among topics of a conference, which is about to be held in the Czech Republic this autumn.
