President of the SAO interested in security of the computer systems in Hungary
Press Release – August 15, 2008
At the turn of July 2008, president of the Supreme Audit Office František Dohnal paid a visit to his Hungarian counterpart, Arpád Kovács, while visiting the State Audit Office (SAO) in Budapest.
“During my stay, I had the chance to learn a few things about the work of the Hungarian supreme audit institution. I was interested in their recent investment in protection of the computer systems, which are used in the process of performing the auditing activities. We talked about the differences in attitudes towards auditing methods in our countries and about arrangements used when putting through some urgent principle changes and evaluating the audit inputs,“ said Dohnal.
Arpád Kovács, president of the Hungarian SAO, held the post of vice-president of the Governing Board of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) from 2001 to 2004 and chaired the Governing Board of the INTOSAI from 2004 to 2007. František Dohnal pointed out that a lot of useful information can be gained from Dr. Kovács’s professional experience in INTOSAI.
