On May 22, 2013, a meeting of experts from the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic (SAO) and the supreme audit institution (SAI) of Slovakia took place at the Brno regional subdivision of the SAO. The participants of the meeting exchanged the information and their experience with public procurements.
At the meeting, participants performed evaluation of both the SAIs’ experience with legal instruments, which were aimed at improvements of the awarding transparency, and discussed the prospects of future adjustments of the legal framework as well as specific problems related to the public procurements, which came out during auditing operations.
Participants also discussed the suggestion of future intense cooperation, which would focus on analyses of public procurements. The fields of public procurements in both countries share the same characteristics, which considerably increase the capacity for comparisons of purchases of standardized commodities.
