Representatives of the Czech and Slovak supreme audit institutions discussed development of auditing

Press Release – July 10, 2008

František Dohnal, president of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) of the Czech Republic, met with Ján Jasovský, president of the Slovak SAO on July 8, 2008, at the Kraví hora Hotel in Bořetice. A substantial part of their discussion was dedicated to developments in audit activities of both institutions.

"For instance, the Slovak delegation concerned themselves in internal operations of the Czech SAO, ways to enhance the quality of auditing, and the efficiency of our audits. We talked on material and financial support of audit activities and monitoring of their expenses,“ said Dohnal.

At the meeting, Dohnal asked Jasovský to give a presentation at the conference on auditing of public administration, which will be held in Prague on November 3 and 4, 2008. "We can learn a lot from our Slovak colleagues' experience. For example, auditing of the municipal government is beyond the cognizance of the Slovak SAO but auditors from the Czech SAO do not perform it,“ said Dohnal.
