Resignation of SAO vice-president

Press release – September 12, 2007

On September 10, 2007, Dušan Tešnar resigned from the function of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) vice-president on behalf of his family’s duty.

Tešnar was appointed to the position by president of Czech Republic on January 1, 1993; the tenure of the office would elapse in 2012.

Vice-president represents the SAO in case of president’s absence. After the previous president of SAO, Lubomír Voleník, suddenly passed away in 2003, Tešnar put this competence to use and stood for the function leading the SAO for over 2 years.
