Ministry for Regional Development frequently adapted rules for projects of the Joint Regional Operational Programme

From September 2007 to March 2008, auditors from the Supreme Audit Office performed an audit of financial resources earmarked for the Joint Regional Operation Programme for the period from 2004 to 2007, which were spent on development projects in tourist trade and on revitalization in selected towns. The audit report points pout that Ministry for Regional Development administrated these development projects insufficiently.

„Václav Klaus nevidí podstatné problémy ve fungování Nejvyššího kontrolního úřadu (NKÚ). Úřad funguje standardně jako ve všech ostatních zemích, a to i bez viceprezidenta,“ řekl ve středu 7. května po společném jednání na Hradě prezident NKÚ František Dohnal.

President of the Czech Republic sees no issue in the current operation of the SAO

"President Václav Klaus said he could not upbraid the operation of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO). SAO hosted delegates from the Lithuanian Committee on Audit

From April 21 to 23, 2008, delegates from the Committee on Audit of the Lithuanian Seimas paid a visit to Prague. During the two-day trip to the Czech Republic, the delegates visited the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament and several sights in Prague.

Delegace Kontrolního výboru Seimu Litevské republiky navštívila ve dnech 21. – 23. dubna Prahu. Kromě jednání s předsedou Kontrolního výboru PS PČR Vladimírem Koníčkem a dalšími členy výboru navštívila delegace ve středu 23. dubna také sídlo Nejvyššího kontrolního úřadu.

Účetní závěrka Rady pro rozhlasové a televizní vysílání nepodává podle NKÚ věrný a poctivý obraz

The final account of the Council for Radio and TV Broadcasting poorly stated

Auditors from the Supreme Audit Office focused on the details of the 2006 final account of the Council for Radio and TV Broadcasting and data used for the closing account of the state budget chapter No. 372 – Council for Radio and TV Broadcasting. The audit was conducted from November 2007 till February 2008.

The Steering Board of the European Defence Agency (EDA) has decided to appoint Mrs. Michaela Nemuchovská, an auditor from the Supreme Audit Office (SAO), to the 2008, 2009, and 2010 College of Auditors.

NKÚ má zástupce v bruselském Kolegiu auditorů EDA

Rada agentury EDA (European Defence Agency) rozhodla jmenovat do Kolegia auditorů Evropské bezpečnostní agentury (College of Auditors) na období 3 auditů v letech 2008–2010 Ing. The SAO to host an international seminar

An international seminar on "Presentation and Measurement of National Government’s Assets with Special Attention to IPSAS" will be held at the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) in Prague from May 14 to 16, 2008. The seminar will be organized in connection with the planned reform of accountancy, which can significantly affect auditing operations to be conducted by the SAO in the future.

Ministry of Labour assigned grants disregarding the receivers´ inadequacies

An audit operation conducted by the Supreme Audit Office focused on realization of the "Programme for social prevention and prevention of delinquency", which was funded with over CZK 650 million in 2005 and 2006. The money were used for 1 150 projects realized by towns and non-profit organizations, which aimed at prevention of delinquency among children, juveniles, and citizens that are tasked with difficult state of affairs.
